## Summary
Research performed over 4 years (2014–2017) into performance of software delivery within technology organisations.
Key findings:
- 4 key metrics for [[Measuring software delivery performance#Criteria for measurement]] are statistically significant classifiers. 2 are based on tempo and 2 based on quality
- There is no trade-off between tempo and quality metrics. High-performers scored highest on ALL metrics.
- The High Performers cluster is pulling away from the pack over the course of the 4 years
## Detailed notes
Used 4 key [[Measuring software delivery performance#Criteria for measurement]]. Based on these measures, cluster analysis was used to identify 3 different groups:
- High performers
- Medium performers
- Low performers
Each group was significantly different when ranked on each of the 4 measures, establishing that these are indeed good classifiers for software organisational delivery performance.
